Hello,
so I'm back from a relaxing trip in Perth
was more like a pit stop for a dosage of family and food
actually, spent 6 nights out of 9 in Mandurah and the rest in Perth

Highlights of the trip:

Spending time with Dad
Seeing cousins, uncles and aunties that I haven't seen in a long time
Food!! wahhh I"m telling you, mee rebus, bah kut teh, chicken curry, bacang, asam laksa, all the Chinese food you could ever dream of and the best chocolate pudding ever.
I sat in every single main stream manufacturer's performance car; including the new Civic Type-R and a Maserati. What a way to spend an afternoon.

holidays are here..
so, I spent the past week or so meeting up with Klang peeps and OCF Winter Camp.
A whole bunch of GT Klang people were here the past week.
But its funny cuz I never really gotten to know them (Dan, Irwin, Kenny) back home but been hangin with them here in aussieland

Sad to say all of them are now rockin it out with Hillsong in Sydney.. mannn I'm missing out *shucks*
whats more.. Hui Li says Chris Tomlin lead last night and Israel Houghton is on tonight and Steven Curtis Chapman is lined up somewhere as well.. wahh sounds like an awesome time!!

Trying to win a 42 inch plasma TV on one of those pop up adverts on the internet.. ended up losing 12 dollars for nothing (long story)
Cutting my hair at the Monash campus hair saloon. Seriously, never seen so many people burst out laughing just by looking at me before.

baby sister is 18 today!

omg is seems like just yesterday she was this cute little girl.. that thought she was the boss of the house.. hehe
not fair k, only she was allowed to have dinner in front of the TV

now.. however, i must admit that she never seizes to amaze me..
now.. she gives me advice
now.. she is not afraid to speak her mind
now.. she woos guys from all corners (knuckle sandwiches on d way!)

now.. she is some mad genius

back from PlanetUni camp!
tired and a little sick.. but definitely renewed
received so much.. although i forgot to bring the 2 most important things to camp.. my bible and notebook.

sometimes we make lists of things we think we can serve God best with
but really, all we really have to do is throw down that which is in our hands and let Him use us in whatever way He wants..
i tend to limit God in this way.. because its more comfortable
but then where is faith in that..
thats something i really need to learn to do..

then i woke up..
whats worse is that my phone card hasn't been working
so cannot call back..

gonna be away this weekend for PlanetUni's camp in Philip Island

three days in a row.. i deserve an award for this. ehehe
i finally feel like apart of the whole blogging community
mainly because i have been tagged!!
by alien SAM the greatest buffoon of them all..

here's how it goes.. (i lifted it from Sam's blog.. thanks)

Weird fact 1:
i have a habit of smelling food or anything else before putting it into my mouth
you might think this is pretty normal.. not if you stuff the grub rite up your nostrils and take the biggest sniff you can, quite a turn off.. and a really bad habit

Weird fact 2:
ehehe.. this is embarrassing, i have little to no armpit hair
well.. its actually much better now, i have a few
oh well at least my underarms dont stink..

Weird fact 3:
lately, i have developed a taste for peanut butter-honey sandwiches

Weird fact 4:
I might get stoned for this but i think that msn is a bad way of communicating
reason being you cant see facial expressions, gestures and stuff
plus its so easy to miss communicate
and well i must admit i type really slow

Weird fact 5:
this is also quite bad.. i like making decisions at the very last minute
because i keep thinking i wont know how i feel at that moment of time if i made the decision any earlier.. get it?

Weird fact 6:
finally, i think it doesn't really matter if food drops on the floor, table, etc.
i would just eat it
seriously, its all in the mind man.. you think its dirty, but really everything you put in your mouth has bacteria
i am a living example that its okay..
just live by the 5 seconds rule.

seriously,
been hearing loads of stories about laptops getting stolen from rooms
but it's never gonna happen to me..

so i was out of my room doing something..
and as usual i left my door unlocked
now, i stay on the highest floor, the possibility of someone breaking in is almost none.
plus.. there's a dog tag system in which only people with keys can get in the stairway

then when i came back to my room..
i noticed my table being very "empty".. after a few seconds i realized my laptop was missing
the first thought that came to my mind was
"oh no i am now officially a victim of laptop theft"

after further inspection.. i realized that my phone and wallet were all still in the room
why didnt the thief take those?
i picked up the phone and called julian phoon..
i think he could hear the tremble in my voice

*sigh of relief*
those buffoon friends of mine.. specifically yihaur and phoon were trying to teach me a lesson..
to always lock my door
or so they say

they hid my lap top in my cupboard when i was out..
but i must say i'm never gonna leave my door unlocked again.. ever

been really busy the past week
finally feeling the stress of uni work
assignments and projects starting to pile up..
not to mention tests.. *sweat*

on a different note,
started serving in OCF (overseas christian fellowship)
playing the bass.. really happy to be part of a worship team again

realized that i've been spending heaps on trips and stuff
made a list of things i have been doing.. and cost of it all.. scary
gotta start living frugally from now

this was a trip to Apollo Bay.. kayaking with seals, had a blast
(more wet suits.. sigh)
i guess thats all for now

I blogged..
the funny thing is so much has been happening.. got so much to talk about
but haven't really gotten into blogging everything
Easter weekend was crazy..

1) Friday night at How Wei's

Spend Good Friday at How Wei's place
He has a really nice new house.. with an Xbox. ehehehe
Peggen and a few others prepared dinner.. many thanks guys
The Urban Life people treats us really really well.. forever grateful
Later watched the Passion of Christ(again) but seriously..
seeing how our Saviour give His all for us really made my Easter

2) Saturday morning groceries

Had to stalk up on food for a week..
knowing that MESS hall will be closed for a week
gonna have to cook every meal this week.. yipee

3) Saturday night John Mayer!

John Mayer is INSANE..
he is such a good show man..
everything from the way he sings, moves and plays the guitar oozes out groovyness
he connects with the crowd really well too..
and the guitar solos.. even words cant describe them
the seats weren't that great though. was on the balcony
hence the crappy pictures

out of impulse.. i bought a continuum t-shirt worth 40 AUD..
ouch.. gonna be starving for a few weeks

4) Sunday Easter Service at Shakers

Best Easter service ever..
Started out with really good worship..
then Pastor Matt Fielder preached an illustrated message
I think this Easter did good for me inside..
Brought me back to my goals this year..

5) Phoonster's Sunday night Birthday barbee dinner

Yup.. dear mister phoon has turned 22.. old fart

Seasons

funny..

I always had the impression that a change in season would be distinct.
For example, summer to autumn.. something I'm experiencing now

Now, I always assumed that the change of season to autumn would be clear cut
I was wrong..

I imagined sleeping on a summer night, then waking up the next morning..
look out my window and see leaves falling, hence autumn
wrong again..

The change of seasons is gradual
Its a grey area.
I've been asking people what season do they think we are in now
I keep getting different answers
Thus the grey area.

This brings me to life.. haha
change of seasons are a process
Coming to australia has been a process

You know the other day I actually thought of staying here for an extra year
something that never even crossed my mind before
nevertheless, thats just a thought

Torquay Australia!

I still cant pronounce Torquay properly, consistently
Its the surf capital of Australia, or maybe just Victoria
but the fact is.. Rip Curl started there.

Anyways Torquay is about a 2 hours drive from Clayton
Its well known for its surfers and retirees

A bunch of us made our way there today to SURF!!
Billy was the tour guide/surf coach

Let me say this.. surfing is NOT easy
its not just about balancing on a board..
u have to paddle, and paddle fr ur life and catch the wave
if u r lucky then u'll ride the wave
but when it does happens.. its like totally sweet dude

not a very good picture but we are the guys with the blue body suits

We paid $25 for the surf board and body suit.. water was really cold

Didn't get many pics cuz we were busy surfing however met Joshua Chan from Malaysia (Sarah Lim's friend). He took loads.. small world

He has an SLR so will post better pics next time..

Decisions..

I dont believe life is a chain of decisions
However, I do believe that decisions made, will effect life.

Very often when faced with a choice or option, a dilemma takes place..
What if one is better than the other
and u know how bad I am in making decisions

I think I've learned that it is okay sometimes to make a choice
Even before u're not a 100% sure yet.. just as long as u stick with it
and, its okay to change ur mind, sometimes
Whats more important would be the timing of the decisions made.
baffling.

Having said that, I feel more comfortable in City Church
Feel more connected to the people..
Yeah so my "church going kaki" and I kinda decided to attend City Church for now

Gettin tired of meeting new people
wanna start building friendships instead

Its been more than 2 weeks since I left home..
Its been more than 2 weeks since I've been in Melbourne..

Been realizing how much I take for granted the small things at home
salt and pepper, body soap, mamak, telephone, yanti, car, among many others

Anyways been having orientation all last week, they call it O-week.. loads of fun

did a whole lot of crazy stuff like riding on that rodeo cowboy giant i-gallop horse thing
got flung off in about 5 seconds.. embarrassing man, the guy had to even give me a second chance.. hehe

This is Lunar Park at St. Kilda, Monash closed the whole park for us.. cool eh?

Fire spitting, flame twirling, kung fu fighting dude..

These people were getting ready for the ride of their lives.. u can even see the fear in Melissa's eyes.. hehe

Toga Night.. we had to wear bed sheets! seriously.. but was actually really fun. Richardson Hall rocks.. Richo Hohaha!!

City Church.. Awesome, this was their anniversary service, was really good. However haven't quite decided where I want to be grounded yet. Gonna check out another church; City Life soon.
This is Yihaur.. dont know why he is so happy in the picture.. anyway the poor fella broke his leg on our second day in melbourne, he's been walking with crutches ever since.

My room.. kinda small, but I like it. Gonna decorate is soon. yay!

wow.. i cant believe i'm actually starting one of this "things". i guess all this excitement has driven me to share; share what i've been experiencing, share thoughts, views, share believes, hopes, share life and a resolution that life should always be about pushing and persevering towards the goal of fullfiling the purposes that God has for us. However, like everything else, excitement too can fade.. so we'll see how long this "thing" will last.

yeah.. anyhows the first week in australia has been a whole lot of firsts for me. Even boarding the plane alone was scary. Not forgetting the small little detail of leaving family and friends and home [sob]. Though i must say that the support and love i recieved was tremendously overwhelming. Words cannot even begin to describe how grateful i am. Thank you all for being there for me. Thanks for the cards and gifts and all that love. Without you i could not have made it through. Seriously!
